Safeguarding All of God's Family

The goal of the "Safeguarding All of God's Family" program of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is to protect our children and all in the church family from sexual abuse and related dangers. Compliance with this directive is closely monitored by the archdiocese. Please help us stay in compliance by attending a session if you volunteer.

Archdiocese Clergy Abuse Claims

Visit the Milwaukee Archdiocese website to file a claim of abuse by a person connected with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee such as a clergy member, teacher, deacon, employee or volunteer.

2012 Safeguarding Training Plymouth Session

Anyone who works with children through the school or church is required to attend this program. Pre-registration is required.

All participants must arrive on time and stay for the entire session. Latecomers will not be admitted and those who leave early will not receive credit for attendance.

Safe Environment Education sessions are not appropriate for those under the age of 18 and out of High School. Please do not bring your underage children unless the location specifies that child care is provided.

* Program Requirements

Participation in a 3-hour training/awareness session.
Read and sign the Code of Ethical Standards and the Mandatory Reporting Statement.
Both national and Wisconsin state criminal background checks will be completed by the parish.
Read and sign the St. John the Baptist confidentiality agreement.

For information on specific dates and locations click on the word "Events" in the right hand column on the Safe Environment page (http://www.archmil.org/offices/safeguarding.htm) of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website. If you plan on attending a session please contact the parish office to complete a background check and other required forms. Please note, when registering, please indicate your parish affiliation or the parish/school that you will be serving, not the parish where you will be attending the class.

Who is required to attend one of these sessions?

All paid personnel, whether employed in areas of ministry or other kinds of services provided by the Archdiocese, its parishes, schools or other agencies. With regard to volunteers, the program requires that anyone who enters into ministry (service), which involves contact with children and young people, participate in the program. As of September 2008, volunteer background checks and training must be completed before beginning volunteer service.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your attendance at a session you will need to log back into the registration page with your User ID and Password and click on Cancel Registration. This will remove your name from the session list .
